Collection: Ronald Muchatuta : Revisiting
Revisiting is an examination of memory, value, and the afterlife of images. Drawing from personal archives, cultural histories, and contemporary digital systems, the exhibition considers how the past is continually reinterpreted through the lens of the present. Rather than treating memory as fixed, the works approach it as a living and evolving space where meanings shift over time. The exhibition reflects on what is preserved, what is lost, and what returns. Through painting, drawing, and conceptual interventions, fragments of histories are reassembled into new narratives. The works invite viewers to question the systems through which cultural objects, identities, and stories acquire value, while exploring the tension between physical presence and digital existence. At its core, Revisiting asks how we negotiate inheritance in an age of constant circulation and reproduction. The exhibition becomes both an archive and a site of transformation—an opportunity to return to familiar histories and encounter them anew.
