About the artwork

Experimentation and change comprise much of Skelton’s ongoing practice of art. Where once the artist focused on hand-built, stoneware-thrown and raku-fired vessels, she now concentrates on translucent-porcelain-paper-clay art that reflects her fascination with and love of the natural environment surrounding her. The pieces capture the transience and beauty of marine and fynbos life as the cycles of evolution and extinction shrink.
