About the artwork

Like so many, Lubanyana felt the life-altering effects of Covid-19 pandemic. Compelled to create art that addressed this shocking world event, the artist explores feelings of sympathy while offering support and compassion for those who did not know how to deal with these new tribulations, for those who lost loved ones, and for those who needed to navigate a radically different lived experience.
