About the artwork
Inspired by the distinctive style and unconventional materials of Dumile Feni’s work, Letswalo created the Un-Titled Series, pit-firing the ceramic and using patina to glaze it. The result is the head of a young man, emanating quiet power and wisdom. The pieces in Letswalo’s Un-Titled Series “represent a unique fusion of traditional and contemporary techniques, while paying homage to artistic influences that inspired me throughout my career”.
